The Dilemma: Where to Focus?

Many business owners and founders often grapple with the question of where to focus their efforts for maximum impact. When you can hone in on a few important areas, you’ll find that the pieces come together, you’re gaining traction and able to create sustainability in your company.

While it's not uncommon to feel pulled in multiple directions, the key to overcoming this lies in a strategic and intentional approach to where you direct your attention.

There are two areas that support yours and your business’ growth: personal and strategic initiatives.

Personal Initiatives: Lays the foundation

This includes attention to your health, personal vision, building relationships, reflection and learning.

Often a business can only grow to the capacity of the person leading it, so if you work on increasing your own energy, challenge yourself to grow and increase your aptitude for new insights, then you’ll naturally see your own resilience to navigate new situations increase.

Strategic Initiatives: Creates the Roadmap for growth and sustainability.

I think of strategic initiatives as encompassing three areas:

1. Strategic Planning: Set the direction of your company. Explore new markets, evaluate potential service expansions, and set clear objectives for future growth.

2. Team Development: Empower your team by enhancing their capabilities. Invest in skill development, provide access to necessary tools, and establish robust processes for ownership of tasks and projects.

3. Removing Roadblocks: Identify and eliminate obstacles that hinder progress. Whether personal or team-related, addressing and resolving these issues will streamline processes and foster a more efficient workflow.

By prioritizing personal initiatives and key business areas, you can exponentially impact not only your own performance but also that of your team and the overall success and growth of your business. Focused attention on the above areas will pave the way for sustained growth and achievement.

If you’re looking for direction: which of these categories would benefit from more attention in your business? That’s a great starting point.

If you’re ready to take your business to its next level - whether it’s revenue, new service or increased team support, I’m looking to work with 2 business owners who are looking to create their foundation for next stage sustainability and growth.
